Nested Intervals Game Rules

The game draws four independent uniform readings from values 0 to 12.

  1. Sort the first two readings into a closed interval A.
  2. Sort the last two readings into a closed interval B.

Scoring: The raw score counts true containments. A proper containment scores 1. If A equals B, it scores 2. Singleton intervals are valid.

  • Lower: Covers the first floor(number of distinct attainable scores / 2) scores.
  • Upper: Covers the remaining scores.
  • Even: Covers even integer scores.

Payout: Gross is 0 on a miss. On a hit, gross is 0.96 × captured whole stake × total support / number of winning ordered outcomes. One stake covers all independent readings.

Wallet and Balance Behavior

Initial Balance: 1000 virtual coins.

Refill: Manual refill is eligible when the user is idle and the balance is below 10. It sets the balance to exactly 1000, preserving fractional carry.

Persistence: Settled balance persists locally, including zero. Fractional carry persists across settlement, refill, and reload. Reload discards unfinished draws without refund. No early bank is available.

Mathematical Evidence

Simulations are supporting observations, not the mathematical payout law. Exact expected values are distinct from measured estimates.

Storage and Privacy

Storage: The source uses browser localStorage for settled demo balance and fractional carry. This does not establish anonymity or exclude other processing.

Third Parties: The template declares a Google Fonts stylesheet. Actual browser request capture is pending; this is not a claim that other requests or processing are absent.

Identity: No account or payment controls are present in the demo. This does not prove that no personal data are processed.

Responsible Use and Audience

Audience: 18+ is this guide's own intended audience policy, not a claim about local law or an implemented age gate.

Usage: Responsible-use pages can describe optional pauses, a personal time/virtual-coin limit, and finding appropriate local qualified help. The demo does not clinically train behavior or make losses safe.

Value: Virtual coins have no cash value. Clearing cached files may leave local storage where that storage is actually used.

Frequently asked questions

How is the score calculated?

Sort the first two readings into interval A and the last two into interval B. Equal intervals score 2. Proper containment scores 1. Neither scores 0. Singleton intervals are valid.

What happens if I reload during a draw?

Reload discards unfinished draws without refund. Only settled balances persist locally.

How does the manual refill work?

When idle and balance is below 10, manual refill sets the balance to exactly 1000, preserving fractional carry. It is not automatic.
